Every time I get ready to walk out the door, I run through a mental checklist that consists of:
- Cell phone
I now have added a fourth check to the list: my power bank, the PQI i-Power 12000NB ($39.98, pqigroup.com). A power bank is a portable battery charger for your digital devices, such as smartphones, tablets, and laptops. It is designed to extend the battery life of your devices if you find yourself somewhere without power, like on a long flight, on the beach, or during a hurricane. The PQI i-Power 12000NB can recharge my iPhone, iPad, WiFi hot spot, or Dell Latitude laptop, so I can be charged up at anytime, anywhere. It can recharge any smartphone with a USB charger. It boasts 12000 mAh capacity that is specifically designed for notebooks. The mAh capacity for any power bank you purchase needs to exceed the mAh of the device you are looking to recharge, or you will not get as much use out of it. For instance, The iPhone 6 Plus that I currently carry has a 2915 mAh battery, so the power bank can recharge it four times before needing to be recharged itself.
