The legal profession is in the midst of an extended break for many of its professionals and workers. This does not mean that lawyers and their staff aren’t working, but clearly the amount of work has decreased, especially for those who regularly practice in courts throughout the country. Attorneys have been handling this downtime in various ways, including spending extended time with family, being substitute teachers for children needing to be homeschooled this semester, and binge-watching series and movies on various streaming apps. While I know we are coping in various ways, I suggest that now is the perfect time to level up. Moving up during downtime, going against the grain, and pushing harder when others are barely moving will undoubtedly help you and your practice as we ease out of this quarantine.
