The images above may seem like outlandish and irrelevant nonsense, but the language of the Internet is growing in use, influence, and acceptance. Entire books have been written in emojis, people have text conversations using only GIFs, and these new elements of language are beginning to pop up in court cases around the country. Every day it becomes more and more essential for lawyers to understand at least the basics of this new Internet language and how it can affect our clients’ cases. But help is on the way. In this article we’ll cover the basic elements of modern Internet language and provide some tips and tricks so you can learn more when this rapidly evolving language starts showing up in your cases.
