Law Practice Management: You Get What You Reward

In a perfect world, law firm values, management goals, and compensation plans should form a three-legged stool strong enough to move a law firm forward in an agreed-upon direction. In reality, compensation systems are typically focused on individual behavior that often leads to attempts to game the system for personal advantage, which, in turn, usually gives rise to unintended consequences that, left unchecked, can destroy a firm.
