In the most famous of Spanish novels, Miguel de Cervantes Saavedra’s Don Quixote, a nobleman gets lost in reading stories of heroic knights to the point that he loses his sanity and sets out to revive chivalry and correct the miscarriages of justice in the world. The book and the life of its author were loosely translated into an award-winning Broadway musical that debuted in 1965 as Man of La Mancha, written by Dale Wasserman with lyrics by Joe Darion and music by Mitch Leigh.
