2014 Difference Makers Award Winners
Congratulations to GPSolo’s 2014 Difference Makers Award winners, who were honored at the Ninth Annual GPSolo National Solo & Small Firm Conference in San Antonio, Texas, on Friday, October 24. The Difference Makers Awards recognize extraordinary lawyers who “made a difference” by breaking down barriers and through community service, pro bono work, and service to the profession.
The Difference Maker Award was awarded to Harry Gee Jr. of Harry Gee, Jr. & Associates in Houston, Texas. Gee is a Senior Fellow of the American Leadership Forum and served as Chair of the organization. He is also a member of the board of Greater Houston Partnership, the Institute of International Education, the University of Houston Law School Advisory Board, the United Way, the Blood Bank, the Advisory Board of JPMorgan Chase Bank (Houston), and the University of Texas Health Science Board. Gee served as 1990–1991 President of the National Asian Pacific American Bar Association (NAPABA), an organization composed of more than 8,000 attorneys of Asian ancestry throughout the country. During his term, NAPABA established the Thomas Tang Moot Court Competition, and he has been selected for the organization’s Trailblazers Award. He has also served as a member of the Board of Governors of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA), Chairman of the Texas Chapter of AILA for two years, and Chairman of the Immigration and the Law Day Committees of the Houston Bar Association.
