Road Warrior: Out with the Old

As this issue focuses on issues of aging, I thought I would focus on the issues of aging technology. When you reach the point of having to (or wanting to) replace some or all of your technology with a newer, hotter, fancier (sexier?) piece of equipment, you must face the related question of what to do with the outdated technology that you will replace.

Dealing with aging technology poses some thorny issues for us, mostly of an ethical nature: What happens to the data we have put into our devices when we get rid of them, some of which data will likely be client-related and confidential?
