Learn about ethical issues confronted by tax lawyers, including:

  • special conflicts of interest for former and current government officers and employees;

This program is offered as a live, online class. Registrants may only participate through the live webinar. An archived recording will not be available. 

Before the program:  

Test your computer system (view complete system requirements).

To access the program:

Visit the program login page.
- Enter the unique six-digit PIN in your confirmation email. This PIN identifies your name and basic personal information.
- If you registered the day of the program or do not have a PIN, enter your name and personal information instead.
- If you are a solo practitioner, retired or self-employed, you may just indicate that in the organization field.

Click “Join Meeting”.

Check your speaker volume.


If you are disconnected during the webinar:

  • If your webinar connection breaks during the live program, log back in as soon as possible to receive CLE credit.
  • Immediately after the program, call Technical Support at 877-297-2901 to inform them that you were disconnected during the program. They’ll ask for your name and email address, which they will use to verify your total webinar connection time and give you further instructions to request CLE credit.
  • Your total webinar room connection time must be verified before a CLE certificate can be issued.


Optional Teleconference Connection:

You must log into the webinar to participate and receive CLE credit but have the option of listening to the program audio by telephone instead of computer. The webinar room is used to track and verify participation for CLE purposes. You do not need to dial into the program if you are logged into the webinar. If you are not logged into the webinar or prefer telephone audio, call 866-927-1520 ten minutes prior to the actual start time. If the phone disconnects during the live program, redial the number above as soon as possible to rejoin and continue listening.

After the program:

Complete the program evaluation to obtain your confirmation form.
-  Submit your confirmation form to obtain credit via the instructions below.

To receive CLE credit, you must be logged into the webinar for the entire program.

Remain on the webinar after the program's conclusion to complete the program evaluation and access the Attendance Confirmation and Request for Credit.

Your participation will be verified and your certificate will be automatically generated and emailed to you shortly after submitting the form.

If you are unable to complete the Attendance Confirmation and Request for Credit immediately after the program, you’ll receive an email with a link to access the evaluation and form a few hours after the program.

You must complete the following steps to receive prompt processing of your CLE certificate application.

Submit the Attendance Confirmation Form

Complete the CLE Online Program Evaluation immediately following the program.

Print, complete and fax the CLE Attendance Confirmation to the number on the form before the deadline listed above.

CLE Certificate of Attendance

The Government & Public Sector Lawyers Division will email CLE Certificates of Attendance before May 24, 2018 for attendees that satisfy participation requirements and submit the CLE Attendance Confirmation before the May 2, 2018 deadline.

If you meet the participation requirements but submit your CLE Attendance Confirmation after May 2, 2018, the ABA will issue you a certificate of attendance within 60 days.

Report webinar and certificate issues after the program.
