Career Choice Series: Franchise Law

Fri, Feb 15, 2019 | 12:00 PM - 12:30 PM CST

In this segment, our panelists share their respective careers in franchise law. Franchise law deals with the business model where a franchisor licenses the use of its intellectual property (logos, trademarks, brand identity, etc.) to franchisees. Franchising is frequently thought of in the restaurant context (e.g., Jimmy Johns, McDonalds, etc.) but it actually is present in a diverse array of industries (e.g., hospitality, automobile, fitness, etc.). Our speakers will share with you their career paths, provide their thoughts on the skills you’ll need to break into this area, what drew them to it, the pros and cons, and what a typical day in their practice entails.
