Integrating Critical Race Theory as a Tool - COVID-19, IPV & Implications for Women of Color

Recorded Brown Bag

Presented by Erica Campbell, Ph.D, Fayetteville State University, Fayetteville, NC

The COVID-19 pandemic has exemplified the need to explore how the pandemic and the COVID-19 responses (i.e. stay-at-home orders, physical restrictions, and social distancing) have impacted women of color experiences of IPV. The purpose of this discussion is to bring awareness and light to the unique experiences of women of color. The discussion identifies the racial disparities that exist for women of color and suggests that Critical Race Theory can be a useful tool to engage and understand IPV among women of color.
