Kathleen Marion Carr has joined Fennemore Law in Boise, Idaho, as a director of Fennemore Forward in the natural resources group. She previously served as Boise field solicitor for the U.S. Department of the Interior where she supervised attorneys managing federal legal issues for the Pacific Northwest Region. She currently serves as a member of the Section’s book publishing board. She also served as the Section’s publication officer and as chair of the water resources committee.

Robin Kundis Craig is now the Robert A. Schroeder Distinguished Professor at the University of Kansas School of Law in Lawrence, Kansas. Craig was most recently a professor of law at the University of Southern California (2021–2024) and University of Utah S.J. Quinney College of Law. Craig is on the Natural Resources & Environment magazine editorial board and serves as vice chair of the Section's Special Committee on Annual Awards.

Emily Sanford Fisher has joined the board of OurEnergyPolicy (OEP). OEP facilitates substantive dialogue on energy policy issues through discussions and events, and aggregates resources from across the energy sector for energy professionals and journalists. Fisher is chief strategy officer at the Smart Electric Power Alliance, in its Washington, D.C., office. She is a member of the Section’s Council.

Brian Israel has joined Paul Hastings, LLP as co-chair of the environmental litigation practice. He is based in the firm's Los Angeles, California, office. Israel's practice focuses broadly on environmental litigation, crisis management, and counseling and he is one of the nation's leading lawyers for natural resource damages claims. He was a co-editor of the Section’s book Environmental, Social, Governance: The Professional's Guide to the Law and Practice of ESG.

Tenney Kapellusch will join Lewis, Longman & Walker PA as a law clerk in West Palm Beach, Florida, this summer. Kapellusch is in her final year of law school at the Elisabeth Haub School of Law at Pace University, graduating in May 2025. She is co-chair of the Section's Environmental Law Society Network (ELSN) as well as the ABA Law Student Division liaison to the Section.

Patrick Morand was named a partner at Husch Blackwell LLP in Washington, D.C. He was previously senior counsel with the firm since 2023. He guides clients through project acquisitions, power purchase agreements, and other transactions, primarily in the renewable industry. Morand is a Section member and has served in leadership roles on the Section's energy-related committees.

Karen Murray has joined Ramboll as senior managing consultant. She was previously senior managing scientist at Exponent. Dr. Murray is an environmental chemist and microbiologist who investigates the fate and transport of contaminants such as petroleum, PFAS, PCBs, mercury, and other metals in environmental systems. She is the Section’s at large vice chair of the Mining Committee and serves on the Section's 33rd Fall Conference Planning Committee.

Naveed Nanjee has joined McGuireWoods LLP as an environmental and mass tort litigation associate. He is a member of the Section's Leadership Development Program and serves as membership and inclusion vice chair of the Section's Enforcement and Litigation Committee.

Jonathan O. Nwagbaraocha has joined Cisco as corporate counsel, environmental sustainability. He was previously environment, health, safety, and sustainability counsel at Xerox. Nwagbaraocha helps colleagues understand legal and market driven requirements so that they design and implement robust and innovative compliance programs. He is Section Chair.

Kevin Pregent has joined the University of Delaware in Newark, Delaware, as assistant general counsel. He was formerly associate counsel at the Delaware River Basin Commission. Pregent is a member of the Section's Leadership Development Program, a vice chair on the Section's 54th Spring Conference Planning Committee, Year in Review vice chair of the Section's Water Resources Committee, and co-chair of the Section's Special Committee on Written Content.
