SEER Law Student Writing Competitions
2025 Competition
The competition topics include:
- Biodiversity
- Energy Law and/or Resource Recovery
- Forest Resources and Public Land
- Indigenous Law
- Water Law
Submit your entry by May 31st. The winning author in each topic category will receive a $1,000 cash prize!
Past Law Student Writing Competition Winners
The 2024 law student writing competition winners and their papers are available to view on the Section's website. If you're considering submitting a paper for the 2025 competition, you may find it helpful to review last year's winning papers.
Additional Opportunities
Flow Forward: North American Water Quality Forum
Law students can register for free to attend this deep dive into some of the most compelling topics in water law. The forum will take place at the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law on May 15-16, 2025.
33rd Fall Conference Volunteers
Sign up to volunteer at the conference, which will be held October 22-24, 2025, in Arlington, VA. Selected volunteers will receive a registration fee waiver for the conference.
