A cautionary tale: The importance of environmental due diligence

Environmental due diligence is a critical component of both real estate and corporate transactions. The failure to properly conduct a thorough environmental due diligence review can be disastrous for the new corporate owner, real estate owner, or, in the case discussed below, a bank that loaned a significant sum of money to a borrower that ultimately defaulted on the bank’s loan.
