2017 marks the 800th anniversary of the Charter of the Forest. Celebrations will take place in several cities around the world, most notably at the Lincoln Cathedral north of London, where one of the few surviving original copies of the Charter makes its home, alongside the Magna Carta. Celebrations are also being planned in Washington, D.C. at the Library of Congress. The Section of Environment, Energy, and Resources is also planning events to commemorate this occasion. Why?
