Pamela Elkow has been appointed by Connecticut Governor Dannel P. Malloy to the board of directors of the Connecticut Port Authority. Elkow is a partner with Carmody Torrance Sandak & Hennessey LLC in Stamford, Connecticut. She is chair of the Section’s Environmental Transactions and Brownfields Committee.
Benjamin Lowenthal has joined Messner Reeves LLP as an associate in its New York City office. Prior to joining Messner Reeves LLP, Lowenthal was an associate at Harrington, Ocko & Monk, LLP, in their White Plains, New York, office. He is a vice chair of the 24th Fall Conference Committee (2016), the Membership vice chair of the Energy and Natural Resources Litigation Committee, and the Podcasts vice chair of the Special Committee on Virtual Learning. Lowenthal is a graduate of the newly renamed Elizabeth Haub School of Law at Pace University, JD, 2013 and LLM in Environmental Law, 2014.
Norm Dupont has joined Ring Bender LLLP in the firm’s Irvine, California, office. Dupont was formerly with Richards Watson Gershon, PC, in its Los Angeles office. Dupont has over 32 years of experience in the environmental law field, including the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation and Liability Act, the Resources Conservation and Recovery Act, the Clean Water Act, the California Porter-Cologne Water Quality Control Act, California’s Proposition 65 chemical regulation and warning provisions, the California Hazardous Substance Account Act, and other environmental laws. He is a member of the Section’s Council and an editorial board member of Trends, the Section’s newsletter, as well as a vice chair of the Electronic Communications Committee and a vice chair of the Science and Technology Committee.
