Sea-level rise (SLR) and climate change (CC) can harm major infrastructure in many ways. In Florida, the first and biggest concerns are drainage systems that are no longer as effective at preventing flooding—or have themselves become the cause of flooding—and the impact of increased erosion and higher water levels in damaging roads. While this article focuses on Florida localthe dynamics—and the laws—have analogues and similarities in most states in the United States.
