As we tragically saw during the summer and fall of 2017, new, increasingly extreme weather events are making the world a more dangerous place. Sadly, the intense storms we have witnessed in the Gulf, Florida, and the Caribbean, will become the norm rather than the exception. As climate change warms ocean waters, it will continue to increase the force and intensity of these storms—ratcheting them up with stronger winds, more rain, and higher storm surges.
