What is next? For the world, aptly covered, uncertainty prevails. The world economy struggles to digest the consequences of a shrinking China, the specter of debt-propped growth, the erosion of nation strength due to persistently low oil prices, and the ravaging of war-torn Syria and horrors elsewhere, obvious and lurking. Meanwhile, here at home, the 2016 United States presidential primaries rage, with frontrunners few would have imagined a year ago. (On the bright side, the baseball season has begun.)
