Mentoring Program

The ABA Forum on Entertainment & Sports Industries is thrilled to announce the opening of its new mentorship program, designed to match attorneys (or law students) with more experienced mentors within the sports and entertainment industry. Selected mentees can expect to receive one-on-one mentorship from experienced attorneys working in sports and entertainment. Mentees also will have opportunities to engage in exclusive programming and professional growth opportunities within the Forum. Overall, the program is directed toward improving your professional skills, building your network, gaining knowledge of the industry, enhancing your ability to form and maintain professional relationships, and learning about opportunities in the field and how to position yourself for them.

Eligibility:

Applicants must be a (i) young lawyer (5 or fewer years of experience), (ii) law student, or (iii) lawyer switching fields into entertainment and sports.

Selection Process:

Interested mentee candidates must submit their applications  by June 30, 2023. Once applications are closed, a committee will review all applications and select the final mentees. Selected mentees will be paired with mentors according to a variety of factors including areas of interest, experience, and Forum involvement.

Time Commitment:

  • The program will begin on September 1, 2023 and last for nine months
  • Mentees and mentors are expected to connect at least once per quarter (further guidance will be provided in the program)
  • Mentees are expected to attend the Forum’s Annual Conference in October (where there will be a “kick-off event” for mentors and mentees) and Spring Conference in April
