Following the Musical Dollar: Music Law and Monetization 101

The "digital age" of music, including an evolution in favor of on-demand access to an unlimited array of music, has impacted the way consumers listen to music, and as a result, has affected how artists make money when their music is consumed. This panel of experts will discuss the variety of ways an artist's music may be monetized, and the legal considerations that these transactions. Our discussion will include an overview of the many types of relationships artists may encounter in their pursuit to monetize music, including relationships with record labels and distributors, publishers, advertising agencies, PROs and more. In addition, our panel of experts shall discuss some of the changes they have seen in the industry resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic.
