The 2025 Connect & Learn Series features sessions on vicarious trauma, caseload assessment, conducting employee surveys, and providing trauma-informed representation to survivors with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
In the Introduction to Trauma-Informed Representation Webinar Series, attendees will learn about the importance of trauma-informed legal representation. Topics will include the basic neurobiology of trauma; symptoms of trauma and trauma responses impacting clients; the application of trauma-informed principles to legal practice; and the personal and professional impact of vicarious trauma.
Trauma-Informed Representation participants will gain understanding of the impacts of trauma on survivors from diverse communities and backgrounds, and recognize and mitigate trauma impacts during client meetings and litigation processes. Participants will also learn to recognize secondary trauma impacts in themselves and their teams and create strategies to mitigate and address those effects.
This training highlights the need for trauma-informed practices, not only as part of attorney-client relationships, but within legal organizations themselves. Topics will include trauma-informed supervision, setting boundaries for sustainable practice, organizational assessments, and trauma-informed hiring & onboarding.
