Building Meaningful Partnerships Between Coalitions & LGBTQ+ Organizations

LGBTQ+ services are often beacons of safety for LGBTQ+ individuals, places for LGBTQ+ survivors to build community, support systems, and meaningful conduits to local support services and resources. Building deep partnerships with local LGBTQ+ services allows domestic violence and sexual assault coalitions, as well as their member organizations, to learn valuable information. Coalitions and members can learn about the local LGBTQ+ community and best practices for supporting LGBTQ+ clients, understand LGBTQ+-specific resources that are available to the survivors their member organizations serve, and earn trust from the LGBTQ+ community.

This guide addresses how coalitions can build meaningful, sustainable partnerships with LGBTQ+ organizations, and how they can help member organizations do the same.
