The Artificial Intelligence & Legal Services Emerging Issues Webinar will examine the use of client-facing artificial intelligence (AI) by legal organizations serving survivors of domestic and dating violence, sexual assault, and stalking. Topics covered will include how AI chatbots work, ensuring the accuracy of information rendered by AI, protection of data when using AI in legal settings, user-centric design, and the unauthorized practice of law implications of using AI to directly assist clients and potential clients. Ethics, legal and otherwise, will be a central theme of this webinar. Participants will learn about the intensive process one legal aid organization undertook to develop its own AI chatbot.

  • While attorneys will receive priority, the training is open to other legal staff and professionals who work with survivors of domestic and dating violence, sexual assault, and stalking.
  • Priority will be given to OVW grantees.
  • The content of this program does not meet requirements for continuing legal education (CLE) accreditation. You will not receive CLE credit for participating.
