Write & Tell Live with Author & Professor Judith Herman
on Trauma, Recovery, and Repair
Our third Write & Tell Live livestream author conversation featured author and psychiatrist Professor Judith Herman and Commission Liaison Marium Durrani. Herman is author of the new book "TRUTH AND REPAIR: How Trauma Survivors Envision Justice."
In Herman's groundbreaking book, "TRAUMA AND RECOVERY: The Aftermath of Violence – from Domestic Abuse to Political Terror," first published in 1992, Herman traced the course of recovery from trauma in three stages, and in the decades since has contemplated a fourth and final stage of recovery: justice.
In her new book, Herman seeks to answer the vital questions: How do we fix the system for survivors of sexual trauma? How do we repair the world for the survivors themselves?
