Trial Skills Institute

December 1, 8, 15, 22, 2020 via live Zoom Sessions

The Trial Skills Institute taking place online teaches and enhances the litigation skills of attorneys who represent survivors of domestic violence in contested hearings and trials.  Working from a hypothetical fact pattern, participants perform closing arguments, direct and cross-examinations, evidentiary foundations, and impeachment exercises in a series of online modules, and receive immediate feedback and constructive critique from expert faculty.  Participants have the opportunity to improve other skills, including case strategizing, verbal and nonverbal communication techniques, thinking quickly on their feet, and overcoming objections and other special challenges that may arise in the courtroom.

Registration closes November 20, 2020.
No scholarship will be offered (Free Training & Free CLE).
The Trial Skills Institute is open to attorneys only.
Priority will be given to OVW grantees.

The ABA will seek 13.3 hours of CLE Skills credit in 60-minute states, and 16 hours of CLE Skills credit for this program in 50-minute states. Credit hours are estimated and are subject to each state‚Äôs approval and credit rounding rules. Please visit www.americanbar.org/mcle for general information on CLE at the ABA.
