Maria Veniard

Deputy Director of the Legal Resource Center on Violence Against Women, Inc.

Maria Veniard is the Deputy Director of the Legal Resource Center on Violence Against Women, Inc., a non-profit organization designed to improve legal representation for domestic violence survivors in inter-jurisdictional custody cases.  Prior to joining the LRC in her current role, Ms. Veniard worked for two years as a volunteer attorney with the organization.  Previously, she created the Refugee Assistance Program in Switzerland, an organization to support families fleeing violence in Syria.  She also has worked with the Global Fund for Women on projects promoting women’s human rights, particularly on stopping violence against women in Latin America.  She has extensive experience working in the private sector to develop educational training programs.  Ms. Veniard also has served on the boards of several education-related organizations.  Ms. Veniard is fluent in Spanish and French, and is proficient in Mandarin, Chinese.
