Institute on the Use of Interpreters in Client Representation

March 10-11, 2025 via Live Zoom Sessions

This two-half-day training will train attendees on best practices to implement when working with interpreters when representing gender-based violence victims/survivors. The Institute will focus on the attorney-client counseling relationship, as opposed to the use of interpreters in the courtroom. Specific topics will include: evaluating when a client would benefit from an interpreter, building relationships with interpreters and interpreting organizations, and effective client communication via interpreter.

Registration will remain open until Monday, February 24, 2025, or until the training has reached capacity.

  • There is no cost to attend this training.
  • The Institute on the Use of Interpreters in Client Representation is open to attorneys only.
  • Priority will be given to OVW grantees.
  • The content of this program does not meet requirements for continuing legal education (CLE) accreditation. You will not receive CLE credit for participating.
