What work do you do with the Commission?
I am a Commission Member. I weigh in on the Commission's work with relation to the ABA and outside entities.
What inspires you, professionally and personally?
"I came, I saw, I conquered." People that overcome obstacles inspire me the most. My clients are some of the strongest people that I know. I do this work for them.
Share one thing you have learned, big or small, doing your work over the past year?
I have learned that one small thing can lead to something that has a huge impact. Specifically, marginalized communities need to have access to voting, so that we can vote. Each vote counts. When we don't vote, it can lead to Supreme Court rulings that weigh against our human rights.
Who inspires you?
All of the people that were told that they can't do something and then proved those people wrong. Whether it be big or small, we all have something in us that drives us to do better.
What is your favorite comfort food?
My favorite comfort food is roast pork, which my mother would make on special occasions. It reminds me of simpler times when family would gather.
What is something you are looking forward to in the future?
Equality for all!
Why should someone donate to the Commission?
The Commission works tirelessly on different fronts to tackle the numerous obstacles faced by domestic and sexual assault victims and survivors. Our work spans all over the U.S. and can be instrumental to legislative reform. We need support of our community to continue our mission.
