Video Court and Trauma-Informed Legal Practice Webinar
COVID has transformed how courts conduct their business. Survivors now must navigate new arenas of privacy and safety concerns as courts broadcast hearings online or record them and post recordings on the web. Join the ABA Commission on Domestic and Sexual Violence as we host licensed clinical social worker Christina Simmons, and national TA attorneys Jessica Mindlin and Alicia Aiken, for a webinar on “Video Court and Trauma-Informed Legal Practice.” Presenters will discuss what’s happening in response to COVID in courts across the U.S., the benefits and burdens for survivors when the court is conducted online, how to promote survivor-centered, trauma-informed court procedures, and share litigation tools and tips to minimize the harms.
