The Commission on Women in the Profession worked in tandem with the ABA Coordinating Group on Practice Forward to introduce Resolution 300B to the ABA House of Delegates at the 2021 ABA Midyear Meeting. The impetus for the resolution submission is the results of the Practice Forward Survey, releasing this spring, which make it clear that both pre-pandemic and during the pandemic, women bear a disproportionate brunt of responsibility for childcare. The resolution urges Congress and local legislatures to enact legislation and provide funding for fair and high-quality childcare and family care. This resolution also encourages bar associations, legal employers, and law schools to develop policies and best practices regarding access to and support of childcare and family care for all in the legal profession.
