The Honorable Judith S. Kaye, former chief judge of the Court of Appeals of the State of New York and the first woman to occupy the top judicial office of New York State, died on January 7th. The Honorable Marie L. Garibaldi, the first woman to serve on the New Jersey Supreme Court, died on January 15th.

Michele Coleman Mayes received the 2016 Hortense Ward Courageous Leader Award. Drucilla Stender Ramey has been elected to serve as chair of the Equal Rights Advocates board of directors. Lauren Stiller Rikleen has been named one of Next Avenue’s 50 Most Influential People in Aging. Estelle H. Rogers received the 2016 Robert F. Drinan Award for Distinguished Service.
