John C. Yang is the president and executive director of Asian Americans Advancing Justice (AAJC), where he leads the organization’s efforts to fight for civil rights and empower Asian Americans though public policy advocacy, education, and litigation. He previously served in the Obama Administration as Senior Advisory for Trade and Strategic Initiatives at the U.S. Department of Commerce. Additionally, he serves in the American Bar Association’s House of Delegates and is a Board Member of the ABA’s Rule of Law Initiative. Yang received the ABA’s 2021 Spirit of Excellence Award for his commitment and work in promoting racial and ethnic diversity in the legal profession.
