Vice President of the United States

Kamala Harris is the first woman, first Asian American, and first Black individual to serve as Vice President of the United States. Prior to serving as Vice President, she served a U.S. Senator. She was the first Indian American and second Black woman to serve in the senate. In 2010, she became the first female and first African American Attorney General in the State of California. She refused to defend Proposition 8, which banned same-sex marriage. Kamala Harris is the highest ranking Asian American politician in U.S. history.
