Standards and Procedures of the Office of Court Interpreter Services

  • Establishes guidelines that facilitate meaningful access to justice throughout the trial court for individuals who are of limited English proficiency or are deaf or hard of hearing, and protect their statutory right to interpreter services throughout a legal proceeding pursuant to G.L. c. 221C and G.L. c. 221, §92A. The Code communicates a core set of principles to guide the conduct of court interpreters and to inform judges and court staff of the complex work of professional court interpreters.
