Robert Sean Deskins is an attorney with Oldfather Law Firm in Louisville, Kentucky. His practice focuses on plaintiffs' litigation, including medical malpractice, products liability, employment law, and legal malpractice. Practice also includes complex business and trusts and estates litigation.
Following law school, Sean spent a year serving as a Fulbright Scholar in the Slovak Republic where he taught courses on the American legal system and human rights law. Upon returning to Kentucky, Sean worked as a law clerk to the Honorable Jennifer B. Coffman, Chief Judge, United States District Court for the Eastern and Western Districts of Kentucky.
Sean is an active alumnus of the University of Louisville. He is the president of the Louis D. Brandeis School of Law Alumni Council and serves on the board of directors of the University of Louisville Alumni Association. Previously, Sean was chair of the University’s Recent Graduates Council.
Recipient, Recent Alumnus Award from the University of Louisville Louis D. Brandeis School of Law in 2010, and Global Visionaries Award from The World Affairs Council of Kentucky and Southern Indiana for his commitment to international relations, demonstrated leadership, and potential for creating meaningful impact to the international growth of our community. Named Alumnus of the Year by the Delta Upsilon Fraternity, Louisville Chapter, in 2014.
Sean previously was active in the Young Professionals Association of Louisville (YPAL) and served as secretary of the Board of Directors for YPAL Cares, Inc., the charitable foundation of YPAL. YPAL named Sean one of its "Outstanding Young Professionals" in 2010. In addition, Sean participated in NeXt!, the prestigious leadership development program of the Fund for the Arts, from 2011-2012.
Sean is a volunteer and founding member of the board of directors of Adelante Hispanic Achievers, Inc., a not-for-profit organization that provides mentoring, tutoring, and enrichment activities to Hispanic youth in Louisville. Along with his community involvement, Sean is an active member of the bar. Sean previously served as a member of the Board of Governors of the Kentucky Justice Association, and he was the chair of the Louisville Bar Association's Young Lawyers Section. During Sean’s tenure as chair, the Young Lawyers Section was named the Louisville Bar Association’s “Co-Section of the Year.”
Sean and his wife, Ashley, live in Louisville with their two dogs, Henry and Forrest.
