The Commission has several committees dedicated to disability diversity within the legal profession and substantive areas of disability law. Committees and their purposes and scopes change to reflect the needs of lawyers with disabilities, as well as pertinent areas of disability law.

ABA House of Delegates (HOD) Resolutions Committee

This Committee identifies and crafts resolutions to be submitted to the ABA House of Delegates; seeks co-sponsorship from other entities for Commission resolutions; and considers resolutions from other ABA entities for co-sponsorship by the Commission.

Commission Operations Committee

The Committee is responsible for drafting a strategic plan and annual plans that will be submitted to the ABA Planning Office. The Committee may periodically review the Commission’s Mission (Jurisdictional Statement) and Goals.

Educational Programs Committee

This committee is charged with identifying and developing CLE topics and speakers for the Commission's individual programs as well as programs at the ABA Mid-Year and Annual Meetings; assisting the ABA Center for CLE to produce programs and possible publications on related topics; and working with the ABA Diversity Center on its Legal Expert Author Pool (LEAP) program and its Diversity Speakers Bureau.

Paul G. Hearne Award Committee

This Committee solicits nominations for the ABA Paul G. Hearne Award for Disability Rights, conducts the selection process for the winner, and makes its recommendation to the Commission.

2018 National Conference Committee

This committee is responsible for planning and coordinating the 5th National Conference: Disability Issues in Employment and Education Law, to be held on Friday June 22, 2018 in Philadelphia, PA.
