CLE: Legal Obstacles Impeding Latinos' Access to Equitable Civic Engagement

Presented during ABA Midyear Meeting 2025.
Sponsored by the ABA Commission on Hispanic Legal Rights & Responsibilities

Sponsored by the ABA Commission on Hispanic Legal Rights & Responsibilities

Hosted by the Sandra Day O'Connor College of Law in Phoenix, AZ.

Description:

In 2024 the ABA Commission on Hispanic Legal Rights and Responsibilities released its seminal report, Legal Obstacles Impeding Latinos’ Access to Equitable Civic Engagement.  This CLE program will take a deeper look at some of the report's findings, especially as they relate to civic engagement and access to justice, policy priorities, and other topics addressed in the report. Our attorney speakers will provide real-world examples based on cases and clients they have represented. We will hear from law school professors and civil rights advocates who are on the forefront of legal issues specific to the Latino community.
