Just Resolutions eNews Submission Guidelines

Just Resolution E-Newsletter is e-mailed to Section members.  Just Resolutions provides ABA Section of Dispute Resolution members with timely and informative articles about Section activities and the dispute resolution field.

Editing

The Editors of the E-Newsletter reserve the right to edit and alter submitted articles for clarity or content. If the staff editors make any changes other than typos or minor grammatical issues the staff will send a revised version of the article to the author(s).

Publication Agreement

Authors of articles submitted to the E-newsletter will be required to sign an ABA Publication Agreement prior to the article’s publication.

Length of Submissions

The average word length of a newsletter article is approximately 750 words; longer or shorter articles are accepted. Longer articles are usually posted to the ABA web site as a PDF document and a lead-in title and paragraph are contained within the body of the e-newsletter.

Deadlines for Submissions

Just Resolutions E-newsletter is usually distributed on the third Wednesday of each month.  Articles should be submitted by the 15th day of the previous month.  (e.g., Articles for the February newsletter should be submitted by January 15th)

Articles from Section Committees

The Section welcomes articles about Section committee activities or articles related to committee substantive areas.  If you are writing an article on behalf of a Committee, please receive approval of the Committee chairs before submitting the article for publication.

Articles topics may include (but are not limited to):

• Interviews with practitioners
• Book reviews
• New legislative and case developments
• Point/counter-point on topics of interest
• Practice tips and practice development ideas
