Recognition of outstanding achievement in the field and programs to support the work of up-and-coming professionals.
D'Alemberte-Raven Award
The Award honors Talbot D’Alemberte and Robert D. Raven, who each had the unique distinction of being both ABA President and also Chair of the Section of Dispute Resolution (or its predecessor).
Lawyer as Problem Solver Award
The Award honors John W. Cooley, a renowned arbitrator, mediator, and professor of conflict resolution.
Award for Outstanding Scholarly Work
The Award was created by the Dispute Resolution Section to recognize outstanding scholarly work in the dispute resolution field.
Civility Award
The Award recognizes lawyers who have taken meaningful steps to promote a more civil public discourse and who epitomize the highest professional standards of civility.
Frank E.A. Sander Award
The Award is presented to those who have achieved innovation in the field of Alternative Dispute Resolution. It is a joint initiative of the ABA Center for Innovation and the ABA Dispute Resolution Section.
James B. Boskey Law Student Essay Contest on Dispute Resolution
The Contest is designed to create greater interest in the field of dispute resolution among law students at U.S. law schools.
ABA Representation in Mediation Competition
