Registration Information & Policies

Phone Order Options

To register by phone please contact the ABA Service Center at (800) 285-2221 [International +1 (312) 988-5000]. Please have the event title and event code ready. The service center is available Monday - Friday from 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM ET.

Cancellation and Refund Policy

To cancel your participation in a program, please contact the ABA Service Center at (800) 285-2221 [International +1 (312) 988-5000].

If the ABA cancels a program, attendees will be notified via email and paid registrations will be refunded.

Cancellations and refunds initiated by registrants will be honored as follows:

In-Person Events and Virtual Events

  • Cancellations received five (5) business days or more before the program will receive a 100% refund, less a $50 cancellation fee
  • No refunds will be provided for cancellations after that date; however, substitute registrants are welcome if provided at least one (1) business day before the program begins
  • Registrants who do not cancel within the allotted time period and who do not attend the program will receive a copy of the program course materials after the program

Webinars (single session)

  • Cancellations received two (2) business days or more before the program will receive a 100% refund, less a $25 cancellation fee
  • No refunds will be provided for cancellations after that date. The on demand version of the program will be available to registrants approximately 10 business days after the event.

Attendance and Credit Policy

You must attend the entire webinar including the Q&A, and click on all participation verification pop-up notifications to receive CLE credit or CPE credit (if applicable).

Please see the information listed on a program's description page on the status of credit in CLE jurisdictions.

CPE credit is only available for selected programs that include the NASBA registry statement and related information in its promotional materials.

Group Discounts

Save 20% when you register three or more attendees for ABACLE webinars, on-demand courses, and National Institutes (virtual or in-person). Programs produced solely by ABA entities without ABACLE may have different group discount policies.

To sign-up a group of three to 10 attendees and save on registration, please contact the ABA Service Center at (800) 285-2221 [International +1 (312) 988-5000]. Please have the event title and event code ready.

More than ten attendees? Contact ABACLE to find out if additional discounts are available.

Scholarships

Scholarships to defray tuition expense for ABACLE programs are available upon application on a program-by-program, case-by-case basis. Preference will be given to public interest lawyers, government lawyers, full-time law professors, solo or small firm practitioners of limited means, and unemployed attorneys.

Scholarship applications must be received at least two (2) weeks before the program start date. You will be notified prior to the program if your application is approved. A minimum fee may be charged on all approved scholarship applications to defray expenses. For programs with tuition costs over $500, qualifying attorneys will receive at least a 50% reduction in the course fee(s).

ABA Open Meetings Policy

The open meetings policy states that meetings are open to all members of the Association and representatives of the media, except executive sessions. When media interest is present, Media Relations & Strategic Communications will screen and qualify reporters, handle media registration and issue "news media" badges.

Media Credentials Policy

ABA media credentials are available to reporters, editors working as reporters, producers, video camera operators and still photographers who present valid press identification. Exceptions must be approved by the Director of the ABA Division for Media Relations and Communication Services.
