American Bar Endowment grants $3.2 million to ABA FJE

Generous Support for Legal Services

The ABA FJE is grateful for the ABE's investment of over $3.2 million to ABA charitable programs in 2020. The ABE's grant improves access to justice and provides life-saving legal services to individuals and families in need. Over many decades, the ABE has generously made grants of nearly $300 million to help support law-related public service, educational, and research projects of interest and importance to the public and the profession.

Information Regarding Blackbaud Security Breach

Blackbaud, the third-party service provider that stores and manages ABA charitable donation information, recently notified the ABA of a security incident which may have affected donor personal data. The cybercriminal was not able to access encrypted sensitive identifiable information, like credit card and banking information, only publicly available information, like name, mailing address, email address, phone numbers and birth dates. The ABA takes data privacy and the protection of sensitive personal information very seriously. ABA Legal Opportunity Scholarship

Hundreds of Scholars Changing the Profession

The American Bar Association awards an annual Legal Opportunity Scholarship to first-year law students. These scholarships encourage racial and ethnic minority students to apply to law school and provides financial assistance while these scholars earn their Juris Doctor. Generous donors make this Scholarship possible.
