January CRSJ Chair's Column

Happy New Year from the Civil Rights and Social Justice Section to you and yours. As we begin 2024, it is a time for many of us to take a moment to be grateful and thankful for our health and safety as it continues to be a challenging time with conflict, violence and challenges to the rule of law continue around the globe.

We kick off the new year at the Section with exciting programming and our virtual Midyear Meeting. We also hope that you will be able to join us on Thursday, January 25, 2024 at 6:00 p.m. ET, to honor Drucilla Stender Ramey as our Father Drinan Awardee - please register here to attend. We are continuing our Chair Chats with Verna Williams, Executive Director of Equal Justice Works which will be available to view via the Section’s LinkedIn and YouTube pages on January 18, 2024. Finally, the Section will continue its Voting Rights Initiative this year, connecting Section Members to opportunities to volunteer with efforts to protect election and voting rights this Presidential election year.

Thank you as always for your tireless support of the Section and our work. We look forward to seeing you, and please feel free to reach out with any questions or suggestions you may have about programming.
