As a result of concerns for our members' health and safety, travel restrictions imposed by employers, the recent state of emergency declared by the DC Government, and the World Health Organization's declaration of a pandemic, the ABA and the Section's Executive Committee have made the difficult decision to cancel any in-person events for the Section of Civil Rights and Social Justice Spring Meeting, scheduled for April 23-25, 2020.
Instead, the Council meeting, and its ancillary meetings, will take place via Zoom to ensure that our important work does not falter. You will receive more information soon on the use of Zoom and our schedule. Please make sure to continue to save these dates in your calendar in order to participate virtually.
Please note that hotel reservations must be cancelled by the individual who booked the reservation as soon as possible to avoid any penalties or fees. Flight reservations also must be cancelled by the individual who booked the reservation. It is up to the individual airlines if they will waive change fees or issue credits for the entirety of tickets.
We appreciate your understanding during this time. While it is a disappointment that we cannot meet in person, we look forward to our continued good work together, and look forward to seeing you virtually through Zoom.
