We’ll discuss the Graham-Cassidy proposal, which is the latest Senate Republican proposal to repeal the Affordable Care Act and radically restructure the financing of Medicaid. If passed, the proposal would have huge implications for people of color, women, LGBTQ and people with disabilities. The proposal would eliminate the Affordable Care Act’s tax credits and cost-sharing assistance and replace it with a block grant to states to decide how to spend. The proposal would also convert Medicaid’s current guarantee of funding to a capped allotment to states and eliminate the ACA’s Medicaid expansion.
