Civil Rights Civics Institute
As the Section of Civil Rights and Social Justice, we strive to educate both lawyers and the public about related law and policy so everyone can participate more effectively in our democracy. The Civil Rights Civics Institute consists of short, educational video and written responses answering student-generated questions on a wide range of civil rights related civics topics.
Introduction by ABA President Reginald Turner, Immediate Past President Patricia Lee Refo, President-elect Deborah Enix-Ross, and Past President Judy Perry Martinez. In the words of the United States Supreme Court in Brown v. Board of Education, “In these days, it is doubtful that any child may reasonably be expected to succeed in life if he is denied the opportunity of an education.”
