This column follows an outstanding and inspiring 12th Annual Fall Institute in Washington, DC, November 7-8, 2019. Our committees, task forces, and Section member pulled together exceptional educational programs. Each panel, keynote, and presentation brought attention to germane criminal justice initiatives and issues. Although the Institute is only a two- day showcase, the work of our Section is a daily event. Our members are always working to develop policy and projects that speak to a broad range of topics in criminal justice. We strive to achieve justice in our communities, our states, our nation, and throughout the globe. We examine and share our individual experiences as criminal justice professionals and suggest recommendations aimed at creating a better justice system. Throughout the year, we lead the way by listening to opposing viewpoints and setting examples that honor diversity, require inclusivity, and demand equity.
