As we approach a new decade in the coming days, the editorial team of Under Construction has a number of ideas and initiatives to deliver excellent, topical construction law articles as well as communicate about the top-rate programs planned by the ABA Forum on Construction Law. This year, the ABA launched a new website and it is implementing new protocols regarding electronic communications with its membership. It is our goal to reach as many Forum members as possible with our articles through distributing the paper newsletter as well as circulating the articles on social media and ABA Connect.
In the coming weeks/months, you will start to receive digest emails from the ABA. The Under Construction online version will be posted in those digests. The purpose of the digest emails is to streamline the most important communications into a single email. Please keep an eye out for those digest emails and be sure to visit Under Construction Online when it is published each March, October, and December.
Please also join Under Construction’s ABA Connect Page at http://bit.ly/2lZ36sJ. It is our intention to continue the discussion from the newsletter on ABA Connect. ABA Connect is meant to be a way for the various ABA groups to communicate directly with its members. You can customize the email notifications you receive from ABA Connect. Currently, the Under Construction page has 95 members. I would love to see that double by the next newsletter in March!!
Under Construction is always looking for new authors and volunteers to assist us with this publication. If you are interested in submitting an article for consideration, please contact any one of our editors identified below. We have put together Author Guidelines and FAQs if you want to learn more information about the type of articles we are looking for. You can access those guidelines at: http://bit.ly/358il4v.

Thank you to all of the authors and my editorial team for the excellent Winter 2019 edition. I love the diversity of content. We covered topics including contract documents, delivery methods, environmental, cool mega projects, government regulations, schedule analysis insurance, termination, surety, indemnity, and more!! I was particularly honored that the Forum’s Manager, Tamara Harrington, allowed a Forum Member to interview her. Tamara has done so much for the Forum and we are lucky to have her leadership.
I hope to see you all in Tucson, Arizona at the Midwinter Meeting on January 22-24, 2020. I played in a tennis tournament there as a kid and can’t wait to go back for the conference (and tennis). Kristine Kubes and her planning team have an excellent meeting lined up concerning risk planning and management in the new decade. For more information and to register, visit www.ambar.org/MWM20.
