In January 2010 the Representation Project participated in a capital defense training in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia with the International Justice Project and the Malaysian Bar Association. The training was provided at the request of the Bar Association with the goal of improving the quality of defense representation in death penalty cases. The training agenda included issues such as the use of international law, protection of vulnerable groups, and the ABA Guidelines for the Appointment and Performance of Defense Counsel in Death Penalty Cases. More than 50 lawyers attended the session.
