ABA Death Penalty Representation Project Welcomes New Staff

In July 2015, Emily Olson-Gault, former Senior Staff Attorney at the Project, became the Project’s new Director. With the Death Penalty Representation Project for nearly eight years, Emily brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the position. She is excited to continue and build upon the Project’s vital work. This winter, the Project welcomed two new staff attorneys to our team: Shannon Redd and Christina Hughes.

Shannon joins us from the D.C. Bar Pro Bono Center, where she worked as a staff attorney and training manager for law firms engaging in pro bono work. Shannon has extensive experience working with civil law firms and understands the demands placed on law firms’ pro bono coordinators and volunteer attorneys. She looks forward to helping firms get the resources that they need to engage in meaningful volunteer capital litigation.

Christina joins us as a former capital defender who engaged in direct representation in Georgia and Florida. At the Project, Christina will lead our systemic reform efforts. She will work with a variety of stakeholders to identify systemic issues with capital representation and help develop creative solutions.

The Project is thrilled to welcome Shannon and Christina to the team!
