Supreme Court Finds Florida Death Penalty Scheme Unconstitutional

On January 12, 2016, the United States Supreme Court issued its decision in Hurst v. Florida, finding that Florida's death penalty sentencing scheme is unconstitutional. This decision has the potential to impact the nearly 400 prisoners on Florida's death row, the second largest in the country.
